Field balancing

Field balancing of rotating equipment is IHSS core expertise. Imbalance in rotating machinery - fans, rotors, impellers, shafts and pulleys - is one of the most common causes of vibration, noise, worn bearings and unplanned stops. With field balancing we measure and correct the imbalance directly on site, while the unit stays mounted, without dismantling and shipping it away.

Vibration costs money. It wears out bearings and seals prematurely, increases energy consumption, degrades quality and eventually leads to breakdown. By balancing the unit in the field you bring vibration levels down to where they should be, extend the life of the machine and avoid expensive downtime. It is often one of the most profitable actions you can take on rotating equipment.

IHSS performs field balancing with instruments that record vibration and phase revolution by revolution. Based on the measurement we calculate where and how much correction weight is needed, fit it and verify the result with a new measurement. You get documented before and after values so you can clearly see the difference. IHSS is based in Sorunda outside Nynäshamn and comes out on site across the region.
